Why Meet With An Agent Before Starting Your Home Search?

One of the things that most agents do when you first contact them is to ask you a few questions over the telephone such as what are you looking for, how many bedrooms and bathrooms and what neighbourhoods were you thinking of?
 
Then they will just throw you in their car, take you around and tour you through a bunch of homes.  More often than not many of those homes don’t fit your needs.
 
The problem with that is it wastes your time.  You spend your weekends or evenings going out and looking at homes that don’t even come close to what you really want to be moving into.
 
The Buyer Consultation is all about saving you time and getting clarity!
 
We found the best way to get started is to come in to our office for a Buyer Consultation which takes only about 60-90 minutes.  We’re going to focus on finding out exactly what your needs are.  We’re going to get that very crystal clear, and then we’re going to actually go shopping for homes right on the computer.
 
We are going to look at properties on the computer in all the neighborhoods that might be of interest to you.  We’ll check off a bunch of them and email then to you to read over and look at the photos in detail at home.
 
The big benefit here is that you are going to be able to eliminate a lot of homes just by looking at the photos and listing details on the screen... this one’s ugly, that one’s on a busy street or corner etc.  If we didn’t see you personally to get your feelings about that, we might be showing you that kind of home and again, wasting your time.
 
Being able to see your reaction to the various listings on the computer screen is actually very instructive for me too.  I can now learn at the same time very precisely what type of homes excite you and, more importantly, what type of homes or neighborhoods you don’t like!
 
If you don’t happen to know all the neighborhoods we look at online, you can pick your favourites from the ones we send you and then drive around those areas on an evening or a weekend to pick out your ‘Top 10' list.  Then call us to let us know what homes are on your short list and when you’re available to go and see the interiors.
